Things I thought were a good idea... but then never got around to doing:
1. Writing an angry letter to the writers of the Gilmore Girls regarding the gross misrepresentation of Korean culture, as represented on the show by Rory's best friend and her family... For Chrissakes, how many girls named "Ling Kim" do YOU know?
(Updated note: Apparently it's "Lane"... Still lame, but not as racist)
2. Push-ups. My officemate Alex and I started a pact in the beginning of this year to do 10 push-ups every hour, on the hour, when we were in the office together. In February, we even created a big chart to showcase our progress and taped it on the wall by our filing cabinet... And now, as I stare at the chart, I have to confess that it is still completely blank. Eesh.
3. Calling my credit card company to complain about a minor - but still fraudulent - charge. I specifically remember what happened too! I was at a going-away party for one of my coworkers and bought beer for the two of us. It came out to $11, so I contemplated adding four bucks to make it an even fifteen, but then decided that it was too much. So I tipped three dollars instead, and even wrote "$14" on my copy of the receipt... but then when I got my MBNA statement, they charged me $15.00!! It doesn't seem worth complaining for an extra dollar - but it's the principle of it, you know?... Grrrr.
4. A Star Wars movie marathon extravaganza. (Eh, who'm I kidding - I'm just not motivated enough to do this).
5. Research on organic eggs. Are they really worth the extra two dollars I'm spending per dozen, or is it just all hype? I was telling Paul the other day that the yolk color seemed different when compared to cheap eggs, but I could just be imagining things to rationalize my willingness to spend more on the clear plastic containers...

Things I finally got off my butt about... and I'm so glad I did:
1. Joining the Chelsea CSA (a community supported agriculture group) - which is supposed to guarantee me 8-12 different kinds of fresh, organically-grown vegetables every week from June til Thanksgiving. Now I have absolutely no excuses for eating poorly.
2. Refreshing my TiVo queue so that it records every single episode of The Simpsons, The Dog Whisperer, Scrubs and that Korean soap opera that I'm kinda addicted to.
3. Laundry, also known as my weekly nemesis. Good bye, stack of dirty clothes! Until we meet again (in a few days)....
4. Having dinner with a friend I haven't seen since my brother's funeral. For over a year and a half, we kept on making plans and then having to reschedule.
5. Doing my expense reports. Nice to know the company owes me almost a thousand bucks that I didn't know about. Could explain the credit card bill I was surprised to receive.

Today is Friday and I am shocked to see that May is half over already. And tomorrow is Saturday the 13th, which is less scary than if it were a Friday. Or a Monday, if you're a cat named Garfield.
It's also a nice day because it is the day that Paul is turning (25+7). Which means that for the next 5 months and 1 day, he'll be seven years older than me.
(I've been sick for almost three weeks and he keeps on making jokes about sending me to the glue factory - but as you can see, just by virtue of the numbers, he'll end up there before I do).
Tonight, I am having dinner with a friend from high school, Gaddy. He called me out of the blue to tell me he left southern California and was moving to Israel, so we're dining specifically so I can get the scoop and on what's going on with him. He's up there with SDavis and Alan on my list of boys I adore - if this means anything to you - so I'm especially looking forward to it. We're going to go to a place called Jeeb which does Thai tapas. A friend of mine highly recommended the place in the same week that he got sick off their food, but then he accompanied me there anyway and it was lovely, so I figure I wouldn't mind checking it out a second time
Speaking of Alan, I also have a long Alan story to tell you about - but I have to go home and walk the dog now so that's going to have to wait til next week or the following. Whenever I have time, really.
For now, I wish you a beautiful and relaxing weekend. Has it been a long work week for you too?
