Christmas brunch party idea needed

Dec 06, 2008 22:48

The church is having a Christmas party, aka brunch, after service on Dec 21. So, I need to bring something. I'm stumped. The problem is I'll be out of the house the entire Saturday before, so whatever I make will have to be made Friday evening. Oh, and that's the first week of work, so probably it should be easy, too. I'm stumped. I signed up for ham pie (that one's way more complicated than mine, but I'm tired), but it could get soggy by then. Also, I just made that for the back-from-the-summer brunch (apparently church brunches are popular). I'd prefer something actual food-like, rather than sweets, althugh I'm not sure there were that many sweets on the list this time. I'm not adverse to buying something, and I may cheat, except the bakeries are pricey, and I'm not sure what Trader Joe's has that would work in this situation. Yes, stuff can be heated, and there's power for a crockpot. Ideas?
