Wildwood
As always, Wildwood continues to be one of my favorite weekends of the year.
I see soooo many people from so many different ultimate circles. If I have my camera, and I remember, I take a picture with them. Oh man, this year was really awesome. Not really more-so than any others, but it was definitely different from other years. FIRST of all, I played in the 2-2 competitive division, which was very intimidating at first, but as it turns out, I'm actually kinda good (FEEL VERY SLOW), and I was able to keep up with most of the people we played against. I definitely have to work on positioning, but when I actually did have good positioning, I felt really good about myself.
Highlights:
--drove down with brenton, izzy, chad, and alyssa
--hung out with chad's team until brett and conklin showed up
--bolero for a while with brett et al
--tucker's pub(?) for.... ever (pepperoni + mushroom pizza! finally someone else likes that!). getting kicked out. grant coming over to say hi.
--other shenanigans
--flag poles = pool skimmer poles
--apparently me telling my "why do you never go hungry at the beach? because of all the sand-which-is-there" joke. i vaguely remember, but apparently it was perfectly delivered. maybe i should only tell jokes when i'm half asleep
--sleep at... 5ish?
--games at 10, 12, 2, and 4, going 3-1
----Played with cassie (cass) wong and i guess other brown university people. but brett and i played with them too.
--showcase US vs PoNY. Grant falling on Brett's toe
--dinner with izzy and peanut
--hanging out with Xtehn in the room while the team went out for dinner and X did work
--Marie wearing other people's clothes... that X picked out (but Willis needed the shirt for work, so she had to switch)
--Bolero... i entered 3 different times
--[part that was different, was that i didn't dance at all. i'm a big fan of dancing, and i was very sad this didn't happen, but it's okay. it was flipping HOT at the bolero anyway]
--brett sleeping on the banana
--Esser asking me if was playing for team usa. i was like "i'm flattered you think i'm good, but no, i'm not." esser said something to the effect of, "i've seen you play, you never know" :) biggest compliment of the weekend for sure
--game at 11 and 1
---1:00 game was against O-Pig, which was Grant, Wicus, Bees, and Chicken's team. We lost in the semis. But it was a fun game. I picked Grant on accident. But there was nothing i could do. It was too late.

--driving back with brenton and alyssa
Gah, now back to real life. I am so not a fan of this.

i applied sunscreen "liberally" every hour, so i have very minimal sunburns!! yayyyyy!!!!

Playing Ultimate with a good team! It's so much more fun when your team is good and they take it seriously while still having fun
