Strange vampire glitch

Nov 12, 2011 20:27

This happened the other day with a female vampire and I shrugged it off as a random glitch, but when asked to 'fly here', Nic did the same thing. Just wondering if anyone's had this and how you fixed it. I'm guessing it's another one of those 'pull out all your cc" kind of problems, but I'm hoping it's something else.

Problem for the bat box, actually. See, the bat is a random object summoned by the action "fly here" and now I can see that your sim gets there by walking... They're supposed to be invisible or something when they do. You can a) start tinkering with the batbox and removing 'junk' that might pertain to this b) go into boolProp and force a reset on Nic (Though the fact that it's happened to two vampires makes that kinda iffy, though it can't hurt.)
c) shoot around it. The bat's moveable with moveobjects on

Though, on the subject of cc, do you have a vampire default replacement? The only thing I can think of is that the overlay somehow has a glitch in it...

A)I haven't tried the Bat Box yet, but I certainly will be doing that.
B) Boolprop I never use. (I know everyone uses it but me! Just one of the things I don't touch-kind of like large spiders.

Probably the easiest way to fix this is turn on moveobjects and delete Nic, then SAVE and exit the lot. When you reenter the lot he'll be standing by the mailbox. I've encountered the odd stuck object that the box won't fix, and this method is safe. MTS says....

If that doesn't work I'm going to guess it's caused by a hack conflict. :P

This. I haven't had the glitch you're having, but that's what I do when the batbox won't fix a glitched sim.

I've done that on glitched sims before, usually those that can't move. I hadn’t thought about that so I'll give it a try.
As to boolprop! If I have a sim that is about to melt into a green chemical puddle I might-might consider it. O_O I need to add a sign saying *Jo does not touch Boolprop, AGS, Lighting mods, spiders* But thank you for the suggestion. :)

I wasn't suggesting boolprop! lol Calm down, Jo. The link I gave was to reassure you that deleting sims from a lot was safe just in case you had reservations about that.

Now that I think of it, doesn't Bat Box have a reset sim option? (I play with boolprop on so much that I'm not actually sure... of course, the fact that half the strings start with 'nuke' has not encouraged me to poke about with the thing.)

It does and I don't like using it as it feels so close to using Boolprop. (You can just put me down to be weird over boolprop) *twitch* I have used that option on the Bat Box when all else fails. I would use move objects on to take my pictures before using that option. I'll try deleting him first and see if that helps.

A bit before I was going to go over to that hood it crashed and I couldn't be bothered loading again. (I think it's overheating as it sounds like it needs a puffer) I have this terms teachers visit today, so I might get that out of the way first.
