Camp Days Week 1

Monday

Sooo, I went to camp at around 8am and signed kids in. Soooooo different from last year. I'm sooooo relieved. XD This constitutes more ACTUAL work but it's structured and I like that a hecka better than when kids just roamed free. Breaking apart fist-fights isn't exactly what I want to be doing at my days of work. There are little pushes here and there but they never escalate to "WAH! YOU DIE!" Ya know? One of the 'bullies' that we have this year is Camper Ad. He's a good kid when you get to know him. He likes playing strategic games more than running around games which I think is commendable. Camper Be is a pain in the butt because he tries to run away from us every chance he gets. While playing soccer baseball, he runs all three bases, home, then runs off into the field /somewhere/. I had to chase him to whollllle time. Camper E has to be the cutest thing ever. She's a twin to Camper Br. Both are quiet.

MMM: Had to be when we did planting for the Milliken CRC garden and we saw a frog camouflaged in the soil.

Tuesday

Fireworks day! Oh, sorry. CANADA DAY! Everyone came over for fun and games. When Lily and Dickson came, I had the audacity to go take a shower while they waited downstairs. =P I can only do that with you guys, I hope you know. Then the four of us (plus my sister) roamed around the house aimlessly with nothing to do. Everyone else came and things became livelier. We made devilled eggs together, played Wii and then went downstairs to play Pictionary. Dickson, you must improve on your guessing skills. XD When my parents came home, we started zee barbecuing. Halfway through, my parents took over because they said I was too slow and not paying enough attention to the food. Boooo. 21 questions is a hard game guys. But it seems to be the tradition now when we barbecue. XD THEN WE ROASTED MARSHMALLOWS. It was yummy. Thanks for bringing it, Anita. And after watching some horrible Canadian Idol (Why are any of them on the show...I'm so disappointed), we headed off to the fireworks. Pretty good stuff. New sideways fireworks this year. Very fresh. =D We wanted to go to BR afterwards to get icecream but my parents said no so we went baaaack. We played the drawing on back game as everyone left. The end.

MMM: There were several. When Anita said "LILY'S NOT WEARING RED AND WHITE!" because she thought my mom was serious about not letting her into the house if she didn't wear the Canadian colours. XD When Dickson thought the sheep was a tree. When Lily got my drawing of "ultrasound" in Pictionary when all I drew was a stick person with a tummy. (It wasn't that good a drawing either).

Wednesday & Thursday

Nothing too special happened these days. We did drills with the kids, made animal faces for story time and practiced their line numbers with them. I'm proud of them for being able to do the line thing in such a short time. Them remembering their numbers, them being able to line up in like 10 seconds in order of their numbers. Them being able to split up into two lines, one even one odd to get on the bus. So proud of them. Smart kids, all of them. We watered the plants, we played some monster games and "Fetch the golf ball" XD That game was soooo random. I found a golf ball in the grass while we were playing storytime and Leader B just decided to chuck it and have the kids run for it. Then we decided to make a "Find the Golfball" game where all staff and leaders pretended to have a ball in their hand and run. I've done a lot of running camp. Let's hope I lose some weight from that =P

On Wednesday, I worked at camp from 8 - 4:30 and then went to BR from 5 - 10. Crazy crazy stuff. Standing all day and then standing all night. My feet was in pain forever and ever. And then the next morning, I had to wake up early again. Having an 8 - 4:30 camp day, then going to the French Presentation meeting from 6 - 9. I was so out of it that I wore my camp uniform to school and I was looked at the whollle time.

MMM: Mrm....when Brandon brought in the little creatures (goldfish, beta fish, meal worms, and crickets) and told the campers that we had to take care of them. Yessah. @BR: "What flavour is this?" "Bananas and Strawberry" "Is it vanilla flavour?".... @UTSC: Had to be when the girl came up to me and asked me which camp I worked at cause I was idiot enough to wear my uniform to school.

Friday

Wooooo! Trip dayyy~ Took the kids to see Wall-E and then swimming. Wall-E was pretty good with the minimal talking. I found it cute and endearing. Then we went swimming and that was crazyyyy. These two girls from another camp each took a leg of mine and dragged me around the pool. O_O These are 6-year-old little chinese girls that're screaming their heads off and making freakishly scary faces at me while telling me I have to go to jail WHILE dragging me by the feet. I couldn't get away fast enough! Luckily! The ratios at the bigger pool were off so I went over there to watch our camp's kids over there. Mistake there too. Kids are older on that side so they know how to splash. >_> Constantly. But all in all, it was fun. I'm disappointed in Leader B for not bringing the prizes for the kids. I think that was really irresponsible and disorganized of him. We'll have to talk about better organization at the start of the week next time because the kids only went off with candy this time around. And everyone got candy anyway...so it's not like they 'won' anything. I think this would discourage the kids from trying as hard next time to win because they we promised them prizes and stuff. I sigh I sigh.

MMM: When the movie Wall-E finished, the first thing a kid said to me was "I fell asleep!!".
