Hoshi hadn't managed to get caught up in the Black Friday madness. She'd spent most of the day at the local public library, amazed to see that she had the place nearly to herself.

"You look like you're just about ready for bed," said Hoshi, giving Joan an odd look as she settled into her own chair.

"But I thought today was some kind of holiday," said Hoshi, confused. "At least that's what they said at the library. They only had a skeleton crew working."

"Well, yeah, it kind of is," Joan admitted. "But it's a big shopping holiday mostly."

She bit her lip and shrugged. "I had some, uh, holiday stuff to take care of."
