"My brain's about to," Joan said. "How the heck do I pack for a two month back packing trip across the multiverse?"

"Just... take a little bit of everything and hope for the best?" Kate suggested. "So you're going on the trip, huh?"

Joan nodded. "Yeah, it was too good of an opportunity to pass up. I mean, I'm from Maryland. I'm downright boring compared to most people here."

"You're talking to the chick from Kansas, here," Kate replied. "I can totally understand why you're going. I would, too. Like, in a heartbeat."

"Maybe it'll become a tradition," Joan said with a smile. "I'm really excited about it. I'll send postcards, I promise."

"I'd like that," Kate replied, with a smile that turned into a smirk. "Can't promise I won't burn them in a fit of envy, but I'd still like getting some."

Joan laughed. "I'll forgive you if you do. And you'll have to send me emails letting me know what I'm missing here. I'm pretty sure I'll be able to check from at least a few of the stops."

"You have a moral obligation to throw an awesome party next week to welcome the newbies," Joan said. "But then we definitely need to have one when I'm back."

"A moral obligation? You know, I don't really do well with those," Kate snickered. "Or, any obligations. But I'll see what I can do."

"Come on, Kate!" Joan encouraged. "Someone has to keep the third floor love alive."

"Well I am gonna hassle all the new kids at the picnic again," Kate said. "I'm totally still promoting the floor, don't worry."

"Okay, cool," Joan said. "And I'll be back in time to help you hassle the next batch of new kids."

"And I'll be here, waiting for postcards and souvenirs."

You know, unless she decided to flee town. You never knew, with Fandom.

"Right, I've got stuff to do, so... I guess I'll leave you to your packing."

Joan nodded and went to give her a hug.

"Take care of yourself," she said. "And I'll see you in a couple of months."
