Streets of Fandom [Monday Evening]

Joan was on her way to the Perk to get some hot chocolate and she was rather annoyed about it. She had been in her pajamas and settled in with her book for philosophy class when someone showed up at the door and told her to go get hot chocolate.

[for one]

The only reason Raven was walking was because Damon had told her to, and she had to obey the compulsion. She didn't even really see Joan as she stumbled toward her friend, neck and shoulder wet with blood.

"Raven? Raven, what's wrong?" Joan asked, able to tell immediately by her friend's gait that something wasn't right. She wasn't close enough to see the blood in the dark just yet.

Raven stared at Joan. "Joan?" she said, some of the fog finally lifting from her mind. Her knees buckled, and she crumpled to the ground.

Joan rushed over to where Raven had fallen and bent down next to her. "Raven?" she asked, finally noticing the blood. "Oh, no."

She pulled off her scarf and used it to wipe up the blood so she could see if Raven was still bleeding.

The punctures in her neck were fresh and still oozing blood. Raven struggled to push herself back up. "Have to...go home," she said.

"No, stay down," Joan said, taking off one of her gloves and pressing it against the oozing wound on her friend's neck. She was trying very hard not to think about what caused it. "I need to get you to the clinic."

Raven wasn't in much shape to argue, weak from loss of blood. She sank back down to the ground, breathing in shuddering gasps.

Joan knew she was going to need help to get Raven to the clinic. But first, she took off her coat and wrapped it around the other girl, hoping to keep her from going in to shock.

"You're going to be okay," she said, pulling out her phone and handwavily calling someone who should be able to easily carry Raven.

Jennifer arrived, having run down from her dorm as fast as she could. She amazingly wasn't even short of breath. "I got her as quick as possible," she said. "What happened?"

"Thank you," Joan said, trying to keep her teeth from chattering. She had Raven wrapped in her coat and was holding her up off the ground as best as she could. A blood-stained scarf lay nearby and Joan was holding a glove to Raven's neck. "I don't know what happened. I found her like this. It looks like... like a vampire bite."

"Help me cradle her head," Jennifer said, reaching to pick up Raven. She'd easily be able to lift her, she just wanted help with the delicate parts. "We need to get her to the clinic. And then I'm getting some garlic."

Joan gently lowered Raven to the ground and got to her feet. She squatted down and slid her hands under Raven's head.

"Okay, go ahead."

Jennifer carefully lifted Raven, and it was like she weighed nothing at all. God bless her gamma-given muscles. "It's gonna be okay," she said, sounding as reassuring as possible. "Promise."

She then started to carefully head towards the clinic.
