All in all, being a boy for the day hadn't been terrible. Oh, sure, cheerleading was a little difficult with the changes in her body, but for the most part, Joan's second stint as a boy was decidedly untraumatic

There was a knock on the door.

Joan started at the knock. Okay, not gonna test anything out cause, wow, that would be super embarrassing.

She walked over and opened the door. "Liir!"

Liir looked a little surprised for a moment before chuckling.

"Joan, I should presume?"

He leaned over to press a kiss on her cheek, if she would allow it.

"Uh huh," Joan said, too startled by him leaning over to kiss her very masculine cheek to stop him. "Uh, hi."

He turned and raised an eyebrow at the startled expression.

"Something the matter? Have a bad day?"

[joan_notjane]

"No, no, it was fine, all things considered."

All things being the fact that she had a penis.

"Just, you know, a little surprised that you kissed me even though I'm a boy."

Oh Joan.

That eyebrow was having a passionate affair with his curls now.

"And why should that have anything to do with the price of wool in Munchkinland?"

Joan shrugged. "I dunno. Just, you aren't the slightest bit freaked out to find..." long pause as she considered what words to use here. 'Your girlfriend' might be pushing things a little since they hadn't had the talk yet. "... me like this."

"Well," he offered, "I already saw that my sister was a boy for today, so I assumed it might have happened to you. And you confirmed my suspicions. So, considering this place, there's nothing much to be 'freaked' about."

[joan_notjane]

"True. And it's not like I didn't see you as a girl a few weeks ago," she said.

"Exactly."

At which point he realized--

"You did know I'm, well, someone's gender doesn't have a great deal to do with things for me, didn't you?"

Though he realized it really had been a while since he'd even gone out with a boy. After Andrew, it just hadn't happened.

Joan looked momentarily confused as she parsed that.

"Oh," she said. "I, uh, didn't know that actually. But, you know, that's cool."

[new_to_liirness]

That got a small chuckle.

"I suppose it has been a while since I went out with another lad. I'm, well, I'm sure you've noticed I'm shy. But the first person I ever dated was a boy. His name was Andrew."

Joan nodded. "I, um... I kissed Penelope once. During that week when people were all... you know."

She made some elaborate hand gestures that were supposed to indicate 'horny' or 'over-sexed'.

That made him smile.

"I'm glad it didn't bother you afterwards," was all he had to say about that.

"It was kinda fun," she said with a shy smile back.
