The view I most often peek at is "visible" under "Atlantic" under the first heading, GOES-East/West Hurricane Sectors. If you want to check out the weather coming off Cape Verde that actually forms into each hurricane, you can see it by scrolling nearly to the bottom of the page: under the heading METEOSAT-7, the "visible" or "infra-red" views give you the best idea of what's going on out there. Right now, tonight, the infra-red view shows you two systems that have recently come off the Cape and have the potential to become major storms. 'Tis ultimate coolness, yesyes!
Now the Mahra is going to bed because it's very late and shi'mahravat get grumpy if they don't go to bed on time.
(Just kidding...)
I'll send ya the satellite picture I saved for my desktop in the morning, 'cause it's such a neat representation of how much a whoppin' big Frances-type storm defines the rest of the weather. Heck, with all this, I nearly want to go be a meteorologist so that I can appear at all the local news stations during storm-time and dodge questions about whether or not it'll hit Miami.
The main site I go to for the hurricane info: this 'un!
For the satellite piccies... lots an' lots.
