The Schedule Fiasco

I'm completely irritated (and that's putting it lightly) with my co-workers today. One in particular - I'm certain that she has some kind of obsessive-compulsive disorder, but isn't getting help for it. She's very controlling, too... but since I realized that her 'sweet voice' is the one she uses when she thinks she's being all smooth and manipulative, I don't do what she 'politely suggests' anymore. Which makes her more obsessive about controlling (not controlling; how would she put it? "guiding" or something) her co-workers... namely- me. Which sucks, because she used to be such a great friend, but now I can't even be in the same room with her without being tense and stressed out. She treats me like a child, which is strange because it's not like I'm a new worker or anything: we've both been working here for the same length of time.
Another of my co-workers (my ally in what we call 'the great rebellion of '05/'06') says that "if they treat you like a child/lazy person/slacker/ insert-bad-work-habit-here, you should act like one/what they expect," etc. So what I do alot of days (when I feel like a complete asshole) is I shirk my duties. Not that there's a lot of duties here, but it gets under her skin, and it entertains us rebels for a few hours.

The Schedule Fiasco (yes... this must be capitalized, as this has been one of the great battles in the '06 Rebellion) was one other thing we did to put her off her stride. She had become very insistent that we all follow a schedule; she had pretty much started to harass us about it on an hourly basis... "Jolie! It's your turn to man the front desk!" "Jolie! Are you coming to relieve me in the security room!?!It's your duty!" Gimme a break! Imagine all that said in a sickly-sweet MaryPoppins voice, but still not to be argued with. Finally, we tore the paper copies of the schedule up and threw them away. It took three weeks of constant head-butting, but she's finally given up on scheduling us. She's still really gung-ho about her front desk time, though. Haven't gotten rid of that habit.

Gah. And she thinks that she's perfect. And doing everything the 'right way'. Crap.

Nothing else. Got a big pay cheque today! Yay! Christmas is back on, kids! ;)

Ahhh, another long horrible work day is done. I now sit at the computer to wait until it is time to catch the bus to go to my last sign language class of this season. Lucky me, it is at the best pizza place in town. Mmmmm... pizza...

rebels, bitchy, work
