Jo's Survival Tip of the Day (sunday): Home Made Laundry Detergent;

You will need:

1 Bar of Fels Naptha Soap
1 Box of Washing Soda
1 Box of Borax (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Borax)
1 Cheese Grater

All this can be had for under 10 bucks for the lot.

Step One: Take your cheese grater and grate up the soap using the small holes.

Step Two: In a large, sealable jar like container combine all of the soap, 2-1/4 cups of soda and 1-1/2 cups of borax.

That's it.

Use 1 tablespoon of the stuff for small loads, 2 for medium, 3 for large and 4 for heavy stained stuff/towels/bedding.

And yes, it's every bit as good as store bought detergent.
