Tuesday at 5:00 I will have my first major audition for a show outside of school. In almost all my other shows, done at the West Valley Playhouse, the director CHOSE my because he knew me and what I could or couldn't do.
It was only yesterday a friend of my mom's called and said the youth group at his church does a major production every year and this years they're doing 'Godspell'. He asked if I would be interested and I said 'sure'. He said "Good! Cause I already gave the director your number!" O.o
So today this guy calls me and asks when would be a good time for me to drive out to West Lake Church and audition. I said the correct response, which is: "Whenever you can see me."
And so, I got an audition in two days at 5:00. The director, Brian, seemed like a really nice guy and he seemed really excited about me, which makes me wonder what he's heard.
Another great thing (and also gives me extra points) is that I know the co-director. His mom used to be the director of the professional children's choir I used to be in for nearly five years. And he's a great guy too.
But I'm still stressing about this audition. Brian said I'll most likely have to sing acapella unless I can provide accompiment, which I can't. So I'll probably just sing a bit of "Day by Day" from Godspell acapella. I hope it sounds ok!!
Wish me luck everyone!
