still embracing the warmth and satisfaction i felt moments ago :)
was walking home after tuition just now when i saw a crowd gathering near the bus stop. being an ultra kaypo singaporean, i walked over pretending i was walking pass. there i saw, an old chubby man sitting on a bench, with his head, hands and feet covered in blood. there's a pool of blood on the floor in front of him and drips of them leading a path from where he fell to the bench. an auntie is pressing onto his head with her handkerchief. a middle-aged uncle calling the ambulance, and the rest of the crowd were standing there trying to help. without much thinking, i dished out my wet tissue (HAHAHA) and went forward. "i've wet tissue!" and the auntie went "ohhhh! okay good good." then she grabbed one from me and wiped his head and face. i took out more to wipe his hands and feet. he looked a little pale, and grabbing onto his wallet tightly with his stained hands. although my hokkien wasnt THAT good, i started talking to him, asking him if he's okay. he smiled and said he's fine, and wouldnt stop thanking everyone. i asked the crowd if anyone has called his family. his friend then said no one picked up the phone at his home. i then asked the uncle if he has any children and that i need to inform them of what has happened. he said yes, and opened his wallet. there's a list of names and numbers. he then pointed the first one saying that's his son's contact number. i called his son, his daughter in law picked up. apparently they knew what had happened, and are on the way already. i then told them we were at opp serangoon jc's bus stop. the lady then went "HUH?! he is not at his house area?" WIN. they were actually heading to a different location. no idea who gave them the wrong info. then i confirmed the location where we were at. JUST THEN, the ambulance came. i asked the paramedics which hospital they were heading to and he said TTSH. as i was still on the phone, i asked the lady if they want to meet the uncle straight at TTSH instead. they said no and are reaching in 5 mins. then i told the paramedics to wait for them. they said okay. one of them took the phone number from me and they wrapped the old uncle's head and pushed him up the ambulance. (OKAY SIDETRACK, one of the paramedics fell and sat on the floor while pushing the uncle up the vehicle. guess he's an NSF? he was damn embarrassed after because there were alot of people at the bus stop. ) okay then, i sat at the bus stop and waited for the family to come. i know it's not my business anymore but i just wanted to wait. HAHA. not long later, a car stopped behind the ambulance and 2 middle-aged men and 1 auntie dashed out of the car and climbed onto the ambulance. i guessed it's the family. then i stood up and walked towards the direction for home. not long later, the ambulance drove passed me and stopped. i looked up and the daughter-in-law rolled down the window and said thanks to me! WHOA. i got a shock. speechless, i just waved and said "no problem bye bye!" retarded i know. HAHA. the paramedic who's driving waved to me too and they drove off. MUST BE HIM WHO TOLD THE AUNTIE THAT I WAS THE ONE WHO CALLED. but yea, a good deed done :) sometimes, im really glad i have the medic cert, the satisfaction i get after each help i render is beyond words :)
