I should have stayed in the private sector. That's the conclusion I reached tonight when I moved my brother to his new apartment from my place (finally, I may add). Thanks to my friends' help (they have a car) it was fast and unproblematic.
He was offered a place in Oud-Zuid - it's THE neighbourhood in Amsterdam. He lives at a corner of a small, green square at the ground floor of a typical Amsterdam house. His bedroom is bigger than my whole apartment. His living room is twice as big as his bedroom. He got it all furnished, equipped with EVERYTHING - starting with cutlery, going through vacuum cleaner, dishwasher, washing machine (that one I'm quite happy with cause it means I'll finally be able to give up public laundry places which I was never comfortable with) and ending on toilet paper, salts for the dishwasher and air refreshers. He has an awesome shower with a wonderful water pressure (checked), he has a comfortable couch in a living room with a TV and dvd player set in front of it. He's got DSL set there. He's got a separate kitchen. He has a f...g huge, fenced terrace with a big table for at least six persons - perfect for parties when it gets warmer :D
Damn right I'm jealous! :-(
Now... to make spare keys to his place... ;-)
