128 Scout - Day 20: More minor work
Today I went down to the house with plans to do a few things and basically accomplished none of it.
I did get the drawers and shelves for the fridge washed and reinstalled though. I also got some more lightbulbs replaced and put an LED-compatible day/night photometric sensor on the porch light. I grabbed a spare bulb from the parents' house and tested out the flood lamp behind the house and it appears to work, so that's good. The fixture may need cleaned up or replaced, but at least the wiring to it is functional. I discovered that the lamp fixture in the foyer might be worth replacing soon as the insulation on the wiring looked pretty crusty and suspect. I also discovered a lot of "crud" in one of the outlet boxes in the bedroom bathroom, which appears to be mostly mouse poop and bug parts, so there's probably more like it that will need cleaned out. While I don't think that it is the result of a recent infestation, I might pick up some mouse traps just to be certain. I should also probably try to spray for bugs again, but it seems like every time I've got the opportunity it's raining or about to rain. :(
I found some mounting blocks at Lowe's for the porch light, but unfortunately they are intended to be installed before the siding is installed, so after a bit of internet research I found a solution intended for post-siding installations that should work with what's already in place on the house. I ordered it from Amazon, so I should be able to get that taken care of some time in the next couple of weeks as long as I don't discover anything else that's screwed up with it.
I've been burning through money very quickly over the past three weeks, so it looks like I'm going to have to sit down and make a list of projects and prioritize them so that I can better focus my time and money on the truly critical things. :/
