fairytales and such
do u allow your mind to sometimes get lost in the fairytales? since you were young you've always heard about the galant prince saving the unconditionally warm-hearted princess and then living happily ever after. well, whether you're 6 or 30, deep inside you're still that little girl wishing to have your happy ever after ending (if u still haven't quite reached it.)
so, you struggle through middle school and begin your travel up the popularity stairs till high school graduation. sure along the way u get discouraged, pissed off, or fall off the side. but you can't completely say u never tried. finally you reach college and man, u think, yeah this is it...gonna make something of myself now.
so then you do (lets say) make something of yourself. graduating with honors in less than 5 years. HA! what an accomplishment nowadays. but have u really attained something?

you read books, watch movies, listen to songs and they all pretty much have the same gist. 'love conquers all and will fullfil your happiness' (well for the most part) so as you're being brainwashed by this....you grow up thinking my goal in life is to find my happiness within a love that i have to find. of course 'love' is never really defined. it could be another person, money, career, your passion...it doesn't really matter as long as it's what makes you complete. but where can u find it?
(step forward)
so now...you're done with college. it's time for the 'real world.' you get into your new career and attempt your legs on your tread up the corporate ladder. now what? well it seems like, for the most part, yet another popularity contest right? i guess to some it is. within all this mess it seems like reaching that happy-ever-after ending will never come soon enough.
you turn the pages, chapter after chapter, in this life you wish could be a fairytale instead. will it have that ending u want? will you find the prince that's suppose to 'rescue' you? are you done going through the troubles that might lie ahead? will there be a fairy godmother to give u hints? are you going to live happily ever after? i guess these are the questions that run through my mind ever so often. i'm pretty sure i'm not alone in this, cuz i'm sure in the world out there there's always gonna be a little girl that wishes to be a princess.
