it's been gorgeous in boston the past 2 days weatherwise.
so i took eric to cape cod today. i go there practically every summer and i absolutely love it. the part of the cape that i'm used to is pretty far out (about a 2 hour drive from boston, but considered far out on the cape because it's serious national seashore territory). anyways - i wasn't planning on heading up to eastham initially, but i couldn't help it. if i was on the cape, i was going to go to my beach.
we started the day in hyannis - grabbing some yummy sandwiches at box lunch and then adventure golf in pirate's cove (pirate themed mini-golf)! then i drove up to eastham, detoured up to fort hill to show eric the salt marsh and my mom's stepmother's house. i pointed out the coast guard house while we were looking out over the marsh and then it was off to coast guard. we ended up sitting on the beach for awhile at coast guard. it was interesting to see how the dunes had shifted in this past year's winter storms. the fenced in walkway that used to be all the way down to the beach was basically filled in with sand on the last 20 or so feet. oh and interestingly enough. eric didn't have class today because his prof canceled - well, guess who we ran into on the beach? yeah - super weird coincidence. how do professor and student end up driving to the exact same beach at the exact same time that is 2 hours away from tufts on a tuesday in april? so anyways, we made sand boobies and penis for awhile and then on the way back stopped in orleans for another round of mini-golf. who doesn't love mini-golf, seriously.
i'm currently sunburned and my newest flip flops have been sanded down a bit so i'm happy.
