Those who know the writerly me will know that I hold
Jenny Crusie in one of the highest regards -- as an author and just a really classy lady. So, she's done it again on her blog. Expressed something that made me sit down and just... quietly admire. I nearly missed it, but I was following ..a blowup.. elsewhere in Romancelandia and someone mentioned Crusie, and of course, I had to find out.
Crusie touched on a few current matters, including the blow up as well as some current US politics (in a way that you don't really need to know about beforehand, so it's good for non-Americans as well as non-romance readers), but her main topic was on Snide and Demean. And I'm just sitting back here going... Finally. Someone saying it a whole lot more eloquently with more poise than I ever could. Because she nailed that black, fuzzy, weird, uncomfortable, not-all-that-great (and sometimes downright annoyed) feeling I get from time to time in the presence of S&D but couldn't figure out how to express it or label it.
So.
Go read it.
Edit: And just to show that there are smart people as opposed to me: I forgot to put the link to the blog entry. ::slaps head::
