So what? I like Kenny Loggins.

Jon and I watched "Food Inc." last night and it was probably the most impactful movie I have seen since "Schindler's List" (which if you know me moved me A LOT!). Then today as I am sitting here searching for jobs (and applying for several that I never thought I would), this song came on my iTunes and I had to look up the words because it just seemed so suiting for how I've been feeling lately. I know that I'll never be the hardcore vegan or die-hard environmentalist or extreme animal rights activist, but I've been thinking about how little tiny changes that we can make can make a huge difference to our lives, the lives of our families, our children, and the planet. I know that I may look like the high-maintenance, prissy planet-killer, but truly, I have been having a change in heart and spirit.

I think this song says it all and pretty much speaks to what I've been feeling lately... especially..... Air that's too angry to breathe, water our children can't drink. You've heard it hundreds of times . You say your aware, believe, and you care, but... Do you care enough to talk with Conviction of the Heart?

Where are the dreams that we once had?
This is the time to bring the back.
What were the promises caught on the tips of our tongues?
Do we forget or forgive?
There's a whole other life waiting to be lived when...
One day we're brave enough
To talk with Conviction of the Heart.

And down your streets I've walked alone,
As if my feet were not my own
Such is the path I chose, doors I have opened and closed
I'm tired of living this life,
Fooling myself, believing we're right, when...
I've never given love
With any Conviction of the Heart.

One with the earth, with the sky
One with everything in life
I believe we'll survive
If we only try...

How long must we wait to change
This world bound in chains that we live in
To know what it is to forgive,
And be forgiven?

It's been too many years of taking now.
Isn't it time to stop somehow?
Air that's too angry to breathe, water our children can't drink
You've heard it hundreds of times
You say your aware, believe, and you care, but...
Do you care enough
To talk with Conviction of the Heart?
