Amelia’s eyes were filling with hot angry tears as she slammed the bathroom door.
Below her, she could hear Stefan and Elena basically demanding that Damon “make it right’. It was even more infuriation when Damon stayed silent. She threw the drinking glass against the wall.
Running footsteps and then a knock. “Amelia? Are you okay? “ It was Elena. Great.
“I just want to be left alone..” New tears started to streak down.
By the time Kara came to her two hours later, she had cleaned up the broken glass and refreshed herself, washing her face. She tied her long auburn hair into a ponytail. She checked herself in the mirror one final time for visible evidence of her previous state.
Stefan had answered the door and her friend was now chatting with him. Damon was there too, leaning against one of the book cases with a half-drunken glass of bourbon in one hand. Amelia paid no attention to either Salvatore brother, keeping her attention fully on her friend.
"Hey, sorry... ready to go.."
Kara looked from the Salvatore brothers, who were still looking at Amelia, to Amelia, who was still doing her level best to ignore them, particulary Damon. "o...kay."
Amelia went out to the car and got into the passenger seat. "Did I miss something?" she finally asked Stefan.
But it was Damon who responded with his half-dry wit. "Maybe it's that time of the month."
