So Tess's house... for a week. I don't really remember this anymore, but we played a lot of monopoly and there was a point where I only had two dollars left, but I ended up winning anyway... I think I'm going to learn how to make a quilt too...
we went up to Lennox, Mass to go to Tanglewood to see Prairie Home Comapanion live! This has been like my dream ever since I started listening to it long ago. First we went to the Norman Rockwell museum which was interesting but I got a sensory overload and had to take some ibu and sit down for a while. We then went to this zen buddhist retreat center that sue had always wanted to check out (she would) and there was an international craft festival. a crafty native american woman convinced my dad to buy some hair thing for me that I didn't really want but she was so sweet. and by sweet I mean hilarious because by no means was she quiet or small. Anyway, the show itself was excellent. Meryl Streep was there, and so were the Wailin Jennys. We were out on the lawn, with our picnic dinner. Everyone else there had wine and really excellent cool table things, and we had a gross blanket. But it was excellent and we were out before the sun even set! It was weird to see things in person you were used to only hearing, but very awesome anyway.
Okay! So early morning the 3rd, I was like, maybe I don't want to go to Go-go's? Maybe I want to stay home and go to the fireworks in town and run into people I know? Katie also invited me over, but in the end I decided to go up to Go-go's for the day early because I wanted to go to the beach. Tee! The beach was awesome. I persuaded my parents to take me to Cape something or rather, because that's my favorite place in the entire world, one of those places I intend to take a loved one to and be like see? my place to be. And we swam! The water was very warm this day, very warm for New England water, which was a good 55 degrees. Since the summer season is so late this year, the water is still cold even though it's July. The warmest it gets by September is 60 degrees, which is the lowest temperature it must ever be in Florida. all signs point to New England is better.
The Fourth of July was awesome. I love the fourth. Who doesn't? Well British people maybe don't. I woke up proper at 10 and uh...then Alec, Eric and Brian came up. We went to Front Beach which is two beaches down from Go-go's house for our Fourth Annual Fourth of July Raft Swim. However, the weather was cloudy and kind of windy, so the water did not even warm up to 55 degrees. It was like, somewhere in the 40s which was way too cold to swim in, but we thought it'd be a good idea to anyway. Brian chickened out. The swim to the raft was painful and cold, but we made it, and all of a sudden found ourselves 50 metres from the shore and too cold to move, and in pain from the water. We all kind of laid there for a while, wonderin what would happen if it started to storm and we all know it's very dumb to go swimming when it is thundering and lightening out. However, we eventually made the plunge back in the water and swam back as quickly as humanly possible which was cold and painful and we got back on the beach where Alec started throwing up. Poor dear. All the rich people stared at us and he buried his throw up and some girls nearly walked in it anyway. Anyway, we got back and watched Italy vs. Germany and I got very very sad when Germany lost. My grandmother's priest and his family came over, and I played with his daughter and she was very very cute. I ate veggie burgers and my 11 year old cousin learned to make fun of me. I rode home with my brothers after the bonfire. The bonfire, since it had downpoured all day, would not catch fire, but it did at the top, and nearly fell, but then it caught at the bottom. Whew.
The next day Vincent came over, and we sat around in my room and he went through my stuff, and I don't really remember. My dad made him eat lots of interesting various foods at dinner, because my dad totally would. My dad liked him a lot, I could tell. Brian made fun of him, but Vincent didn't realize this. Eric ignored everyone, like he usually does. I don't remember much else.
A few nights later I get a call from Michelle's mom that I can go with them to New York to fetch Michelle from camp, to which news I was much glad. I thought I wouldn't be able to go because Michelle's family, Will's family and everyone's stuff all had to fit in the motor home. But it worked! And I wasn't the one who had to sleep on the floor. In fact, no one slept on the floor. It was a long ride up, and awkward, full of younger siblings and mothers, which are not my best subjects. I read Pride and Prejudice... fifty pages anyway, and then slept the whole ride. I would.
The first night concert was the Jazz band and the treble choir. They were both excellent. Will and Michelle were surprised to see me. That night, we decided to keep the motor home in the parking lot and sleep there. Which was very bright but interesting. I ate eggplant and broccoli pizza, which was good.
The next day I went to Will's piano recital, which was good. There were some really amazing pianists. Also there was harp, and I rememebered how I really wanted to play harp when I was little, and Sue only said I could if I built my own harp. Now don't tell Will, but he was first in the program and it's done by skill, the last being the smartest and best. And I laughed. I felt bad but he later would deserve that!
Then was the final concert and it was very long but very cool for the most part. I liked the orchaestra best, and I also liked the winds. It was a 3 hour concert but it was worth it. Then we started the long trek home, stopping in Vermont at a very buggy camp site. Here is where it all went awry. Will's little brother was whiny because there were too many bugs. I don't remember what else but everyone was annoyed at each other. Will kept talking to me about random things like could he borrow my CDs of romantic classics (not like love like the time period). I went to sleep. The next morning he slept in too much so Michelle and I threw things at him and then Michelle and I took a walk down to Lake Champlain and took pictures and had fun.
We were on our way soon enough and we stopped at the Ben and Jerry's factory and took the tour and got ice cream. All was well. Michelle and I ignored Will further.
The final segment of the ride home consisted of Michelle and I listening to music and napping in the back of the motor home and Will at the dinette and whispering I LOVE YOU and makinga big production of it and small children making fun of us and me getting upset and grumpy at this and deciding to just sleep and ignore him. Michelle and I went swimming when we got home. I went home and slept more.
The next day summer stage began! It is much fun as it always in. I was casted as Lady Macbeth. Woot! I should be memorizing lines right now. Eh. Oh well. Michelle's been coming over everyday, or I've been going there and we go swimming. I moved a futon in my room, which you all saw earlier. I've been cooking lots of food and watching lots of movies. Movies I've seen recently include
Aeonflux
The Producers
The Boondock Saints
Tristan & Isolde
I think there's one more but I can't think it. I liked all of them but the Producers.
Michelle and I were going to go see The Revolution soccer game, Massachusetts' very own soccer team that no one cares about, but then we decided to see Pirates of the Carribean 2. I liked it, but there were some parts I didn't like as well. The theatre we saw it in did not present it well either as it was too loud and I can't watch action on big screens too well because it confuses me. We went swimming more, and then sad things happened.
I talked to a lot of people last night.
My dad expressed concern for my workload this year, and said it wouldn't be wise to take the fiction class. I convincend him otherwise that it would be okay. I mean with 2 honors classes, 1 AP class, and drama club, I can see why he was worried but it'll be okay. I'm kind of worried for German II because II is hard. But III and IV is even harder. Anyway.
Oh yeah my optical mouse died sometime in all this mess but the new one is coming in tomorrow.
Tonight I think we're watching Good Night and Good Luck.
Going to go memorize my part!
Oh yes my murder mystery day part is excellent.
Anyway, bye.
