What's been happening

I posted a kind of cryptic message a few days ago about my brother's death. I am in Michigan now with my family. The 48 hours following the moment I received the news was positively the most hellish two days of my life. Obviously I was upset about my brother, but add to that the fact that I had to rush to finish my packing and get everything under control to be ready to leave the following morning on a flight to Detroit combined with the fact that I never really got to give everyone in Swansea a proper good-bye and all this on no sleep. It was just...hellish.

A group of the Italian girls (Anna, Anna, Michi, and Monica) plus Luisa all escorted me to the train station at 4am the next morning. The fact that they wanted to be there meant a lot to me and their help was greatly appreciated with getting myself and my luggage onto a train into London. Once in London I went to Heathrow and discovered I had been sent to the wrong airport. I was supposed to be booked through Heathrow, but for some reason my flight was leaving out of Gatwick. So I had to rush to get on a train to Gatwick, almost lost it completely due to stress and lack of sleep and almost missed my flight. But luckily, I got on it and finally, after another delayed flight in New Jersey got to Detroit. My mother and my cousin met me there.

From the moment I found out until I got into Detroit my main priority had been to get to Michigan. I didn't have any of the details of what had happened or anything, but since I got here I've found out the main details and I think getting some information has helped me to feel less frantic and a bit more calm, although it doesn't make me feel any better.

I'm not sure when I'll be back to California. I'm going to begin working on that tomorrow. Services are to be held on Thursday and Friday so it won't be until after that. Maybe this weekend, possibly not until next week.
