sick sick fascination
with these tv shows about people having 12 kids...or 16 kids!
(1) they all live in the south
(2) all clearly are very religious
but it blows my mind how people can birth that many children, and then, how they raise them and give them everything they need (muchless want!) on a budget of one salary. there's no way to raise that many kids without a stay-at-home parent, so i'd assume it would only be one salary.
i don't really understand the motivation to have that many children...to have a really hard life, constantly living on a severely constrained budget.
i saw a show the other day about having 16 kids, and then, tonight on TLC, there was another one on having 12 kids. these people converted a schoolbus into the family transport.

I think only smart, greater than middle-middle class people should have kids. People below certain income levels should be allowed two kids. Oh, and no welfare...none of that.
I believe that if you want to have children, you should be able to not only give them everything they need, but feed some of their wants. Give them the tools and skills and opportunities to have a better life than you do! We live in a society where income (usually) determines lifestyle. Give them music/dance/sports lessons, private schooling, and material items that will allow them to get ahead in life.
