I practiced with
Matt Germak tonight with just Jeff(bass player), no drummer. It was still awesome. We have a show coming up on the 26th. I keep getting assurances that a lot of people will show up. I’m kind of hesitant about getting too much of a buzz up amongst my close friends mostly because of my own musical insecurities. I’ve had talented friends suggest I come to see a certain show that they’re in & then had it suck. It doesn’t really get me let down or mad but I assure you I will never take their word for the quality of a show again. I want to feel really confident that whoever I invite won’t hate it. It’s not that it’s bad music or anything it’s just that most of the people I know are not singer/songwriter pop/rock kind of people.
Man I come up with the best parts for some of Matt’s songs & I always get vetoed by the whole band on my favorite ones, & then I come up with something on the spot that I think is a hack job & cliché & everybody loves it. I think Amanda(my guitar) is trying to tell me something.
This band
Reckless Daughter keeps posting on Craigslist for a new lead guitar player, & it’s getting annoying. I think they really kick ass, but they’re all in their late 20’s early 30’s & won’t take me because I’m too young to get into some bars. It’d be different if they found someone else right away, but they’ve been posting for weeks.
