"brown walk"
Providence and specifically college hill is really pedestrian friendly which was a shock to me when I got here, since hardly anyone walks anywhere back home. But none the less, there is this "walk" called the "Brown walk" and it's where you cross the street regardless if you have the right of way. It took me a few days to get use to it since I'm so use to crossing at crosswalks and waiting for people to let me cross.
So it shocked me that the other night when I walked right out in front of car, risked getting hit, and continued walking without it phasing me. It wasn't until now that I even gave it a second thought.
