A relaxing saturday

A friend of mine, who I've only met in person a couple times because he lives in Australia, came in on saturday morning (He'll be going to ABCon this coming weekend). I picked him up at LAX and we headed over to Isaac's (where he's staying) with wwilliam47 for a day of hanging out.

We went to see 300. It's a fun movie. It's also every bit as historically accurate as you'd expect from a movie based on a graphic novel based on a movie based on historical accounts. Actually, it was a bit better than that. Just don't expect it to be in any way realistic. It's highly stylized. In costumes, only the Spartan equipment is substantially accurate. The agoge in the movie is based on the version designed to impress Roman tourists, not the one that actually trained Spartans for war.

We also played Company of Heroes (I will point out, I was not the team-killing-masta this time) and ate pandas (er, at Panda Inn). wwilliam47 and I got home around 3:30 AM.

Yesterday, I was useless. I slept, ate, watched DVDs (er, slept some more, this time in my recliner with moving pictures and sound going in the room), and played video games. I still need to schlep my computer up to my room and hook it up again. Blech.
