The last time I had caffeine was saturday morning (in response to the only headache I've gotten from getting off of it this time). It takes about 3 days for me to stop being drowsy from the withdrawal, and I'm past that now.
The biggest difference not having caffeine regularly makes for me is that I sleep and wake up better. I have more energy in the morning, and it's much easier for me to get out of bed.
Being off caffeine also means that I don't get up in the morning craving it, which is something I hate. I find that after a couple weeks, as long as I limit myself to caffeine in limited amounts once or twice a week, I don't have the cravings that I would have otherwise.
