And not just for Afest, either, though that's a big one. Also, in two weeks, Joel's sons come home from their two-month "exile" with their mother in Utah. It's been a long month and a half for them, if their near daily phone calls to Joel are anything to go by. Poor kids, stuck with a mother like that.... >.< She's crazy and medicated and only allowed to even have the kids at all so long as her parents are their to supervise. At least those of us here in Maine have 10 months out of the year to undo all the bad habits they pick up while living with her.
I know he'll want me to go with him when he drives to Boston to pick them up from the airport, but I know he'll understand why I can't, even though I'd really like to. I've been taking too much time off from work these past couple of months and, with my vacation looming on the horizon, I really shouldn't take more time. To put a positive spin on this, I've had Joel to myself for nearly two months, I think they'll need a day to be together without me. Or something. *L* I'll see them when they get back from Boston.
EDIT: NM, their flight doesn't come in until 8 or 9 PM. XD I'll be heading down keeping Joel company since the boys will be too exhausted to keep him awake. ^.^;;
Onto cosplay and Afest!
Every time I think I'm getting things together, I take a step back and just go: @.@ -- at all I still have to do.
I'm not in panic mode, yet, three weeks still seems like a lot of time and I know WHAT I have to do. What worries me is I really have no idea how long thing are doing to take TO do. ^.^;; Like I certainly didn't expect the glue on the ears to take a week to dry, but the recent streak of high humidity scoffed at my idea that it would only take a day or two.
Despite it all, however, this week is going to be my "burn" week. I'm doing a little to a lot every night and, hopefully, will have earned a little bit of relaxation time with Joel on his only day off this week. However, that's only if I can get a LOT of work done. *nods*
Both my ponytail falls and my boots are on order and hopefully should be arriving within the next week or two. I wish they'd sent me a confirmation letter or something when they received my order, but they took the payment, so I can only assume it's all in the works. I have lots of plans and I'm crossing my fingers that everything will turn out well. I think it will, but there's always that crazy little chibi-me in my head who like to run around screaming that the sky is falling. ^.^;;
Oh! Attn: my roomies for Afest: I have the total cost for all 5 nights (Well, 5 for two of us, 4 for the other two) and I will be dev-noting and email people with the details. That way you can be prepared to pay me back your portion before you run out of money. ^_~ Also, I'm adding names to the hotel reservation. Sakata was added this morning, Sara will be added tonight since I have your last name written down at home and I;m at work right now ((sh!)). What about our fourth? Is there a name I can add? Email me or dev-note me!
