pissed at sfsu
So I haven't posted in awhile and of course the reason I'm posting is because I'm incredible pissed at my school. Today is definitely one of those days where I wish that I had transferred or at least gone abroad for a year to get away from this ridiculous shit. So yesterday was my preregistration time, a time where for 24 hours I have the chance to preregister for 8 units of classes for next year, which equates to 2 classes for most people. I'll put aside for a second the fact that they barely offered any of the classes that I wanted/needed to graduate or that a majority of the classes were offered at the same time, actually I won't really because that already pissed me off.
So today I get a call from a friend of mine who happened to register for the same two classes I registered for, she says one of the classes has disappeared from her page and the prereg time has ended because it's only good for 24 hours. Apparently my school decided that after students have registered for a class, they should then completely cancel the class, not even change it to another day/time, but completely cancel it. So I am left to hope that I get the other classes on my list, there was barely any room for error to begin with now there is none.
Worst of all I can't complain to my department, because the class and most of my classes are in another major. Why must we have such a "diverse" department?
Did you know that it takes students an average of 6 years to graduate from sf state and if the proposed budget cuts go into effect it will take an average of 8-10 years to graduate? Do you realize how ridiculous that it? I have friends coming in next year, sucks to be them.
