Dublin, Ireland

This weekend was sooo much fun!! It all starts Friday at the crack of dawn as I make my way down to good ole’ edgware road to begin my hour journey to Heathrow Airport. I get there really early like at 8 oclock, which is the time Bill told us to get there but I really didn’t want to be there at early, but anyways I ran into Kevin there and we smoked cigs together and talked about Max’s mysteriousness. But then I separated from the rest and got a beer and went to the book store to check out stuff. Then when I went through security, they opened my bag and went through it, no big deal except there was a “problem” with my shampoo since the bottle is bigger then 100 ml but there was only enough for maybe two uses left and they were debating if they were going to let me take it or not. And I could of cared less about it because there wasn’t a lot left and I bought it in France for pretty cheap… But after a while of consulting they decided to let me keep it, but there were no questions about my massive tube of toothpaste. But I by the time I had gotten on the plane I had another beer, and Bill saw me and was like I see you’re starting off the day right… But to say I got drunk at 9 am and never really sobered up.

When we landed, we checked into the hotel, which was really nice, then we went to the jail house, and this park with this giant cross, where I guess 40% of Ireland’s population gathered a while go when the pope was there.

[This was extremely creepy, turning the corner and being smacked in the face with this.]

Then we went on our musical Irish pub crawl, which was kinda lame, I don’t know I thought it was going to be much more cooler. But to say the least I met these two Canadians one of whom was really cute, and we hung out a little bit, because when we left the last pub of the crawl, I got separated from the rest of the group so I went to a pub with the two Canadians, and they bought me a drink and a shot, and I made out with the cute Canadian. But then I was starting to feel really drunk and paranoid because I didn’t know where I was, so I was like I gotta go use the toilet and then I left and took a cab home. And the cabbie totally made fun of me because he knew how drunk I was as I was sitting in the back seat unable to function and get money out of my wallet. And then when I got back to the hotel, I tried to call Lenny, but I don’t think I had the right phone number so I decided to use the internet… a whole nother confusing process, and then RB walked by and was like “Julie!!!!!! Go to sleep…..!!!!” I love that kid he is sooo cool and funny. But then Jeff and Kate came back and Jeff was freaking out because they finally realized that I was missing and lost in Dublin. But it all worked out for the best. And then when I tried to get to sleep I got the spins… and got sick. On the day I had 13 drinks (that I remember)…

The next morning I was feel sick and gross, but we went to the Joyce museum, and there I threw up and felt a lot better. It was really pretty and had a beautiful view, but then when we left Bill was like we’re going to hike up that and pointed to this mountain really far away and I was like oh man…. But first we stopped at this “beach” thingy where people went swimming…. It was funny seeing all these boys/girls strip down and jump into the freezing cold water. And then we went up on this hike and it was totally worth it, it was long, but not as hard as the Scotland one though, it was longer but not as steep. And then after that we went on the Guiness tour, where I couldn’t drink me free drink because the taste/smell of it was making me sick again.

[Some of us were smart and didn't get in]

[That face is priceless, he looks a child running down the stairs Christmas morning.]

After that we went to dinner and some other pub in northern “the sketchy” part of Dublin, where I started talking to this guy who turned out to be the dummer of the band that was playing tonight. He was really fun to talk to, and flirted with me a lot, but a little confusing at the same time. But the band was amazing!!! We also had this long conversation about hookas and smoking and life in general. After he played he came over and sat with Andrew and I, I was on the couch thingy and he sat down next to me, and he put his hand on my leg and my hand was kinda locked in with his hand, which I thought was really cute. Afterwards Andrew and I left and we saw this fight go down between 10 guys, pretty scary because then the police came over and everything, so Andrew walked me most of the way home, but when we split up told me the wrong way to go although I wanted to go the right way he was like no this is the right way, so I listened because he wouldn’t let me see the map. But I ended up walking really far in the wrong direction and turned around and walked back, to the spot where Andrew left me, but on my way back there I stopped in this pub, and this cute Irish boy with red hair and freckles bought me a couple drinks. And me being sexually frustrated because of whole drummer situation earlier, I made out with Marcus and he gave me a hickie, which felt really good, and he wanted to walk me back to the hotel, but I was like on man… But I finally made it home some time between 2 and 3.

The next day we went on a walk to the beach with Bill, and talked more about James Joyce. I have to say that Dublin is literally littered with James Joyce. But after that we got food, and did a lot of shopping and looked at stuff and walked around Dublin. And I have so say that I was really close to getting my nipple pierced…. It would of only cost me 9 euros… I kinda regret not getting it done, but I’m trying to mature and take out me piercing… it’s a slow processes which involves me having nightmares….

On the plane, I fell asleep right away, and took the tube back home. I sat across from Max for 30 minutes of it, basically up until the part where I get on the hammersmith line. On the way home I decided to stop off at the Sussex arms, where I was going to just sit alone and have a couple beers and then get chips… But it ended up being kinda croweded so I sat down at this table with this other guy sitting all alone, we started talking and it turns out that he graduated from Cornell in 2000, so we talked for a while and smoked… He bought me a couple beers, and then when we left I felt kinda bad because he just wanted a friend and I exploited him for beer, but not really because he just got up and came back with a beer for me so I bought him chips… which is a deal for me because the chips only cost me a pound. It was cute…. Oh and did I mention he is 29 and married?
