Driveby post yesterday of
jumbled, tired thoughts about my trip over at WordPress.
I tweeted a couple of photos earlier of the
roof of the Mercat de Santa Caterina and the view of the
Sierra de Guadarrama from above.
And here's a photo I took inside the Sagrada Familia in Barcelona. Maybe the most beautiful stained glass I've ever seen in a church, primarily because it lets in so much light and because it is an impressionistic sort of blur rather than biblical scenes.
More beautiful than this, though, were the
stained glass and ceramic work in the
Palau de Música Catalana. The Palau was built by Lluis Domènech i Montaner in a crowded neighborhood, and maximizes natural light. I visited on a cloudy day, but would never have guessed that from the brightness inside. The building is privately owned and does not permit photography, but there are some gorgeous professional photographs available
online.
