I'm still excited about it

I'm so excited about the new apartment I scream a little bit inside every time I think about it.  We had a little bit of drama yesterday, a few hours where I thought maybe my excitement was in vain.  Speaking to the manager on Monday, he'd said that there were four other people interested in the place but that I had first dibs as I'd been the first to submit an application.  He called right as I was leaving for work and I didn't have time to drop off the deposit check before my shift.  He said he needed to have it within 24 hours or he'd move on to the next person.  Dan stopped over early yesterday morning to pick up the check and was supposed to drop it off on his way to class in Millersville.  He waited until after class and after eating lunch to head over to Marietta and found the office closed at 1pm.  To top it off, rather than calling anyone or consulting with me,  he just shoved my check through the rent drop box and drove off to his next client session.  Livid doesn't even begin to touch how I felt.  Anyway, the guy called later in the afternoon to let me know he'd been out at a showing but had swung by the office on his way home to see if we'd dropped it off.  I do have to say, those two hours when I didn't know if we still had it were the longest hours of my life.

So, once again, it's official.  We sign the papers and pick up our keys Thursday the 26th at 9pm.  I've already gone furniture shopping with Kim once and the plan is to drag Dan back to the store on Saturday to put down deposits on some things.  The store will keep anything purchased for thirty days, and I have off the 28th and 29th so we could move things in that weekend.
