the windows
One of the girls in the house told us today at dinner that there was a recent break in into one of teh apts on this block during broad day light. she said that the guys hoped from fire escape to fire escape looking for an open window. I'm kinda worried now. I mean i'm not in the room a lot and i could come back and someone could be there or my stuff could be gone. Also, one of the other girls said that the window in her bathroom shattered a while ago and the women at the union hadn't made an effort to fix it. I left lidice a note on the board addressing my concern about the issue and inquired as to what actions are being taken to keep us safe and to fix the windows.
i'ma a little scared now...i mean...i'd like to be able to sleep w/ my windows open since it's so hot in there even when it's nice out that i have to sleep in barely nothin' or nothin', but i'm scared someone will come in the middle of the nite and i don't steal somethin' or rape and pillage us all!!!!! so i went to close my window and heard liek a creak liek someone was comin' up the fire escape and jumped. i quickly shut the window as if that was goin' to do anythin cause it can easily be opened from the outside...so now i must burn to death tonite...man when i move to nyc i'ma make sure i don't like near a fire escape...cause i'ma want to have ma window open at nite.
