new fiction: what they don't tell you

My latest contribution to The Daily Cabal has gone up today, called "What They Don't Tell You."

I teach in one of the most prestigious secondary schools in Singapore. 90 years old, and it's consistently among the top three, with Raffles Institution (named after Sir Stamford Raffles, who changed the country from a tiny village into a major trading port, which eventually led to its economic prosperity, or so the legend goes) as the biggest rival. As such, the school demands a lot of both its students and faculty. The management approach tends toward the micro, and this sometimes chafes my sensibilities a bit. I thought it would be fun to push my annoyances past the plausible and into the realm of the dystopian, and this "story" is the result.

As before, I'm disabling comments here to encourage discussion on the story page. If you feel motivated to comment on the story, whether you loved it or hated it, please do so there.

Enjoy!
