niall in the lion city
Got to hang out with coalescent last night, who's been in town thanks to his day job. We grabbed some dinner at an Indian restaurant at Clarke Quay (much fancier than it appeared from the outside), walked around a bit, checked out the nearby Kinokuniya, and grabbed some dessert at Billy Bomber's (just me, since he'd gotten something earlier). We talked about books, Strange Horizons (he's the senior reviews editor, and so has been responsible for publishing my few reviews there), books, being a judge for the Arthur C. Clarke Award, books, science fiction, books, health care (which, for some reason, I seem to bring up with almost everyone I meet lately), books, and books. :)
It was a lot of fun getting to meet Niall in person and geek out over literature and other stuff. Yay for online friends who come to Singapore!
