Trinoc*con 8 will be kicking off in a about a week and a half, once again at the North Raleigh Hilton. This will be the first year that I won't be attending (I went the first three years as a fanboy and wannabe, and the next four years as a literary guest), and it looks like I'll be missing a great line-upGeorge R. Geeze. It kinda snuck up on us this year. We'll be there, though.

Is it just me, or, barring a few really nifty people to meet (Hand, Martin), and a few old acquaintances, is the literary track looking a little sparse?

Maybe a little. I wonder what the programming looks like (since it's not on the site), if they're banking on Martin bringing in the crowds and putting him on a lot of panels and stuff.

It was my pleasure, the very least I could do.

So are you going to do a reading?

There's been some turnaround in the con committee so I'm not sure. I hope to get a panel schedule this week so I at least know which days I need to be there.

But I don't plan to do a reading. I didn't ask to, but said I'd be happy to do one if they needed to fill space. This is my first con as guest, so doing panels is a new enough experience for me as it is. I'll whip out the guitar when I get a chance and put together a few song-and-prose sets for the next opportunity, though.

Alex.

You might want to contact Dan Reid, who got unexpectedly stuck with Lit Chair duties only three weeks before the con. He may be able to squeeze you in somewhere.

And hey, have fun on the other side of the panel table!
