I just posted on Flickr the photos Janet and I took this past weekend when we visited Kong Meng San Phor Kark See Monastery for Vesak Day. It rained pretty heavily at one point, which is why there aren't more pictures, although there are some neat outside shots just when it started, and the sky is all grey and stuff.

Also, if you get a chance, check out the well-designed KMSPKS website; they have a virtual temple tour that's quite net-savvy. We got to visit most of the spots on that tour: Hall of Great Compassion, Hall of Great Strength, Ven. Hong Choon Memorial Hall (which was huge), Stupa of Venerable Abbots, Pagoda of 10,000 Buddhas, Dharma Hall & Library, and Statue of Kwan Yin. The monastery and accompanying grounds are gorgeous, if ostentatious, and I'd like to go back to explore it more detail; there were so many people there for Vesak Day festivities (along with many vendors selling food, books, prayer beads, and jewelry), that it was difficult to spend any length of time in any one place.
