Anime Detour

It's almost been a year since my last update... oh well.

I got back yesterday evening from Anime Detour 2009! This year was my first year as an official cosplayer (last year I went around as different Background Characters). My costume was very last minute. I was planning on going as Emma Skye from Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney, but the lab coat never came in time. So I went to Target and fashioned myself a Sophie Hatter (Howl's Moving Castle) outfit. It was more of a summer version of Sophie's dress, but I got to carry around a cane.

My pals went as Hetalia characters; America, Canada, and Hungry.

I met a lot of cool people (as well as some crazy, stalker-ish girls -- which is not a bad thing, but I really had no idea what this girl was talking about. First she mentions my costume, then she's suddenly talking about Pokemon). Once again I spent a LOT of money on merchandise from the artists at Artist Alley, and I got to meet Messa from Deviantart, Shatia Hamilton from Fungus Grotto, and Jenny Klis (also from Deviantart).

Greg Ayres was brilliant, but he was still feeling ill from his heart attack. Good Luck Greg!

The number one moment of Anime Detour, however, was the ending musical number by Organization 13 (+ Xion... so Org. 14). As soon as I find a YouTube vid, I'll post it. It was really brilliant. Those Nobodies choreographed their dance moves perfectly. Oh, and at the end Axel swept Roxas off his feet and kissed him. Haha! (Although my friends thought it was awkward, I just thought it was funny as hell.) It was really perfect.

Over and Out.
