Coming back from Buffalo on I-90 last night, I suddenly came up on a deer. I was in the right lane and it was standing in the passing lane. I had maybe two seconds to disengage the cruise and swing over to the right as much as possible.

There was not enough time. The left corner of the car got it bad. The headlight is gone, but the corner of the hood is only bent a little bit. The quarter-panel will probably need to be replaced, maybe the back left side too.

I was stunned for a minute after it happened. I got out to check the damage, but the deer was already a mile back and there was nothing but truck traffic behind us. There is no doubt in my mind that the deer died very quickly.

Now to call insurance.
