Wandering alone through dark wilderness. Dense tree-lined ridge hides my view of the horizon. A chill wind whistles through hoary branches and chills my body; teeth chatter; shiver and shake. Look up and see only darkness. Ahead, darkness. Behind, all sides, the same. Feeling my way through it now, no sense in trusting to sight in this dense shadowy world. I meet shadowy figures along the way; they extend their hands, offering aid and comfort. A shrug of the shoulders and I continue on. Onwards to no end. I know I should search for a way out, maybe even accept help. But I would rather wander around in circles until I find something to make me forget that I am here.
