TV Stolen From Danielle

Here's what is showing at our house this year:

Sunday:

The night is a little lacking for me, but Mike is always happy. At this time of the year there is usually post-season baseball to watch, so that's what I've been doing. He flips between Football and the cartoons on Fox.

Monday:

House! I agree with many that it isn't the show of yesteryear, but I still enjoy it and it's one of my favorites. The writing is snappy and I follow many of the show's writers, directors, and producers on Twitter. They're all pretty funny.

Tuesday:

Dirty Jobs - Mike Rowe makes me laugh. What can I say? I love non-fiction(ish) tv! This kind of "reality" show doesn't bother me.

Wednesday:

Glee is my new favorite. It makes me laugh out loud, it gives me a song to hum for weeks (Single Ladies, anyone?) and it gives me great one liners. Now that more people I know are watching it, I can pull out one liners that people actually understand. Last night on Twitter, people were turning "Chuck Norris" lines into "Sue Sylvester" lines and some of them were hilarious. "Sue Sylvester doesn't go hunting. The word hunting implies the possibility of failure. Sue Sylvester goes killing." I can't wait for the (lack of) pregnancy drama to unfold!

I think Modern Family is kinda funny too ... The whole pilot had me confused (which I think was their intent) and then it turned out that the 3 family units on the show are connected.

SVU - I miss the lawyer girls. CHristine Lahti has been fun, but I miss the others! SVU has always been my favorite L&O.

Mythbusters - Another non-fiction(ish) show we both love. It's so interesting to me how many of my kids (even down to little ones) watch it and the conversations it creates between them. It has renewed their natural curiosities in the scientific process way more than a science class could.

Thursday:
Flash Forward - I missed last weeks, so I need to catch up. It's a little bit like a Lost-wannabe, but I'm ok with that cause I like Lost. Mike and I actually both watch it which is a rarity in our house for anything that's not on Discovery Channel. :) The majority of the actors are using "American-accents" which seems to be in vogue these days on TV. Barely any of them are American. It impresses me much more when someone pulls out an American accent as compared to pulling out a British one. I don't know why.

Grey's - It has evolved, as any show in its zillionth year would, but I still enjoy it. The season finale last year made me gasp out loud, which rarely happens. Kudos to the show runners for keeping major spoilers under wraps. Even people like me who read all the spoilers like to be shocked sometimes!

Private Practice - A spin off that (in my opinion) works and stands on its own. I like all the actors in this one, and it's still medical but totally different than Grey's. Thursday is the only night I purposely make myself stay up to not miss Grey's and PP!

Project Runway - It's on at the same time as PP so I just DVR it and watch it Saturday mornings. For some reason, this one has never really bothered me. The people know they're in a contest, but other than the terribly bratty people, they all pretty much get along and support each other. I think they recognize that as designers they all bring something different to the table and that making an avant guarde look in 16 hours is something they will probably never do in the real world, so they go with the flow.

Models of the Runway - The good thing about this show is that it gave us more actual Runway stuff during Runway because Model elimination is on it's own show. Most of the stuff on this one is junk, and I just Fast Forward through my DVR to find out who got cut. :)
