The MVA is the worst. I luckily never had your kind of misery, but I remember trying to figure out what the hell I had to do to get my license from out of state and then again trying to figure out what I needed to do when my mom signed the title of my Sentra over to me and the language of their website and forms was unintelligible. I'm a smart person and I couldn't figure out what forms I had to fill out and what other things I needed to bring so I can't imagine how all the really dumb people that seem to walk around in this world ever get anything accomplished at the MVA.
Oh and when I went to get my license done with my new name and address I very specifically waited and tried to figure out what proofs of new address I could bring since all the bills are in Paul's name and I'm not on the mortgage since Paul refused to come to the MVA with me. Apparently your spouse who owns the house is a valid form of ID:) Their website of course said I needed all this for an address change. The woman didn't look at one single piece of it. She took my wedding license (issued in Florida) and changed my name and then took my word about the new address.
And then it seemed goofy to me that they refused to change the name on my title, so that when I sold the car the title I signed over had a name and address on it that matched none of my IDs. Luckily Carmax didn't blink an eye about it.
