I know this is not very age 21+ of me, but I love spending money in arcades so much more than in casinos. We had a kick ass weekend at the arcades. Actually, arcadeS. First, we went to Fantasy Island. It's the amusement park/arcade on the actual island where the house is. Last summer, Patti & I dug up all the point tickets and tokens we could from the house and headed down to the arcade. We played a little more and at the end of the day had like 7500 points. Of course that was enough to get some junk, but nothing too exciting. We decided to take our receipt and go. Mike and I played about $15 worth figuring we'd just add whatever points we got to the 7500 and come back another day or year.
We kicked ASS that night. First, we played this new cool spin the wheel poker game. If you got regular hands you won tickets as usual. However, if you got 3 of a kind, the wheel spun! The wheel was anywhere from 3 to 5000 tickets. Mike got 250 tickets! And they were 10 point tickets! Amazing.
Then minutes later, I was playing deuce's wild poker and I was dealt a royal flush! It was only 125 tickets BUT ... they were 25 points each! Add that to some skeeball we played and we had 8000 points in about 15 minutes. So there we were with 15,000 points to spend. Amusingly enough, we got a silly Lenox trinket box with doves and wedding rings on it. Completely silly of course but it's wedding themed and hey we got it this year. If we had 3000 more points we could have gotten Lenox Minnie and Mickey, but we thought if we were playing for points on purpose we would not get any and would just waste our money. But it was fun. And we got Lenox! At Fantasy Island! Crazy. (We got a bunch of erasers with the extra random points)
Then we had a conversation with the girls at the prize counter (which we had to ourselves because it was a ghost town on May 31) and they were soooooooo jealous that I went to UD cause the one girl had a 4.0GPA and didn't get in. Thank goodness I went 10 years ago cause I certainly did NOT have a 4.0.
Saturday after an afternoon of thunderstorms we went to the boardwalk. I warned him how skanky Seaside can be, but he wanted to judge for himselves. It was suprisingly busy for an early summer weekend, but lots of people in Senior Week clothes so I guess that was a lot of it. We ate funnel cake (yum) and then went to an arcade. Again, we won a crap load of points! And someone gave us their extra points too. We got a glass chess set. One set is frosted and one set is clear. Another real prize. Crazy.
So that's that ... I was sad to see that Universal Studios burned down in Hollywood. That is so sad. I am glad I saw it before hand!
I can't believe I'm up at 11:17. Eek.
