So even though Rose was missing for two weeks and Jackie had planned a memorial service for her, it hadn't gotten into the press that Rose was gone? I find it interesting that the family was able to keep it so quiet. Obviously, Peter was too distressed to really care about anything but Rose coming back, but someone had the proper focus.

Yay, Louise! I can just see her holding court in the coffee shop with all her friends and former customers. And, of course, who but one of his surrogate mother's would be immune to his attempts at charm?

Penington, who Rose suspected had been alerted to their presence through some sort of bat-signal, arrived a half-hour later

HA! And Pennington, too! Five kids? I always thought Penny was a bit rabbity, but that's crazy. ;^) But how lovely is it to see Peter surrounded by a loving family after all these years, particularly after what he and Rose have just gone through.

And I must say, it gave me a bit of a thrill to hear the background on Williams. Now, if only Rose's secret Torchwood file on the bitch who shall not be named were to be accidently left in an area where Ruby or Elias might encounter it...

I love the storm at the cottage as a metaphor for Peter and Rose's relationship - strong enough to withstand the worst the world (or stubborn authors) has to throw at it year after year. *sigh* Love.

Thank you once again for making a Monday morning more than bearable.

The media are used to Rose vanishing for a few weeks at a time-she’s been doing it for years, and it’s always been couched as “Official Vitex Business” (amazingly, the press have bought that line). But it does surprise me that no-one quite got wind of the memorial Jackie had been planning-which is a testament to how tightly-knit the inner-circle of the Tyler clan is.

Yay, Louise! I can just see her holding court in the coffee shop with all her friends and former customers.

Louise will be like that until the day she passes away. Bless her.

He and Anna have *got* to stop drinking the water ;)

But how lovely is it to see Peter surrounded by a loving family after all these years, particularly after what he and Rose have just gone through.

And he still doesn’t *quite* realize just how much of a loving family he has in Kendal. Silly Peter.

And I must say, it gave me a bit of a thrill to hear the background on Williams. Now, if only Rose's secret Torchwood file on the bitch who shall not be named were to be accidently left in an area where Ruby or Elias might encounter it...

I think Ruby looked Loreen up, even if Elias didn’t. *g*

I love the storm at the cottage as a metaphor for Peter and Rose's relationship.

This is another chapter I can *very* clearly place in the writing timeline, because it was written after I got back from Scotland last year, and-more to the point-after I’d experience a lovely gale up on Skye. How lucky for me that it actually folded in quite nicely to the development and pacing of the story (although I’d have found a way to sneak it in no matter what!).

(or stubborn authors)

Oi!
