Rose woke suddenly, disoriented, wondering what it was that had pulled her from deep sleep

I now exactly how you feel, Rose... it happens to me at about 3:30 every morning. Still haven't figured out what it is that wakes me.

He’d been pushing himself hard on his latest case-the murder of a young orphan--and the lack of anyone in the neighbourhood seeming to care only fuelled Peter and Elias’s determination to find out who’d deemed the lad a liability.

Superhero!Peter&Elias! defending the defenseless, finding justice for the victims. That's why we love them so :) well, one of the reasons...

It appeared Peter was home, after all-and that he’d stripped as he crossed the room.

brain just 'sploded.

She heard a soft sigh, and the equally soft lapping of water, and she gently pushed the door open.so she slept through the sound of the tub being filled with water ? that's amazing... of all the sounds that would wake me (and I sleep like the dead - my comments about waking at 3:30 lately notwithstanding, I slept through fire alarms in ( ... )

Have you checked the bathtub? ;)

brain just 'sploded.

So you wouldn’t want me to describe how he snuck into the room, already pulling his jumper off; how he toed off his shoes as he unbuttoned his shirt. How he slipped out of his trousers and pants over by the wardrobe, then walked towards the bed, discarding his shirt…and how he paused, briefly, at the bed to place a kiss over Rose’s cheek before moving to the en-suite?

Ok.

so she slept through the sound of the tub being filled with water ?

She did. Peter closed the door behind him, and then filled the tub. And once it was done, he cracked open the door to try to get a bit of a light breeze in the loo.

I see how you slipped that in there... expecting us not to notice ;)

This *is* the super-duper Torchwood Tub, which is far more comfortable than your bog-standard bath tub. So of course they’ve both used it at the same time. :)

I adore the image of Rose just massaging Peter's head and neck while he dozes in the water. It ( ... )

And then spent not a little time contemplating his wife while having his soak? XD

The first thing I picture when I think of them taking a bath together is still Rose giving Peter Ferris-Bueller-in-the-shower hair.

But he still doesn’t quite get why *other* people find him so damned sexy.

And that lasts beyond him getting mercilessly flirted with by colleagues of both genders at the Met?

And then the perp recognized Peter, and was like “No way am I getting nicked by the boytoy of Rose Bloody Tyler”...

One imagines that upon finding out he got the crap kicked out of him by said boytoy, his cellmates will provide humiliations galore.

Indeed. Only he was a bit *too* tired to properly contemplate her.

The first thing I picture when I think of them taking a bath together is still Rose giving Peter Ferris-Bueller-in-the-shower hair.

Peter: Ro-ose, what are ye doing?
Rose: Shhh. Just let me play.

And that lasts beyond him getting mercilessly flirted with by colleagues of both genders at the Met?

It does. Peter's got a lovely little ego, but it doesn't extend to his physical attributes--in large part because his physical attributes were so solidly used as a weapon against him when he was younger.

his cellmates will provide humiliations galore.

That's a very safe statement, yes.
