Perhaps most remarkable, at least for Peter, was that the shirt was a soft pink...
Why pink? What's that say about you, Peter? Are you getting soft? Is your love for Rose making you less manly? Does your choice to wear a pink shirt mean that you're becoming further domesticated to the point that you thought Rose would like to see you in a rose-colored shirt? Are you content to live under Rose's thumb, Peter? Is that what the pink shirt means???? Is it????

She heard the door close, caught what sounded like the soft snick of the lock; she turned, meaning to ask Peter about it, and was caught completely by surprise as he pulled her to him, his lips finding hers.

They were lace, part of a matching set of lingerie she’d bought on a whim; Peter hadn’t seen them yet, and he paused to lean back in order to see what she was wearing.
What color, Rose? White? Pink? Black? Leopard-print????
“Indeed.” He leaned forward, his lips hovering just over hers. “I plan to shag you while you’re still in them.”

It shows that he’s in touch with his feminine side, and is comfortable in his masculinity. And, as videotaped footage available on the interwebs shows, he rocks the color quite nicely. *g*

OMG-it’s utterly, *completely* humiliating for him to demonstrate his affection for her. I mean, just *touching* her in public…he shudders with disgust at the thought of being so very demonstrative. ;)

C's coloring closely matches DT's (w/o the freckles, a shame), and he looks fab in pink. If I could just get him to *wear* it now and again...

Anyway, the details were what really made this little piece shine. There's nothing that makes me more crabby than walking around with proper heels, like Rose is in the beginning, but then again, if DT wanted to shag me in an interrogation room I imagine that I would recover quite quickly as well.
I think my favorite bit was when Peter told her he was going to shag her with her knickers on. I about died of spontaneous combustion right then. You might want to warn folks.

Welllllll...it's more like "I *really* should have found a way to write that scene--no way Peter's going to leave Kendal without having found a way to make it happen." Because for Peter, it's a whole ball of complex emotional issues, all tied up in that small room--and having sex with Rose in there is about intimacy, yes, but it's also about somehow finding a way to stake his claim to the space, and to make at least a tiny part of the station hold *happiness* for him.
Um, not that I've thought about it.

That would take all of the fun out of it, though! And, to be honest, I have *no* doubt that folks know exactly what to expect out of this story, even before they read it. Bless ;)
