It depends on my mood as to which one I favor more--but I do love both worlds very much indeed.

I adore the imagery of the turning ring as it helps him uncoil the past and move towards the future.
Thank you. I just liked the rhythm of it, honestly--and it provided a nice unifier as Peter collects his thoughts. Yet again, though, my subconscious was working merrily away...
why, FFS, was he *at* the meeting to begin with
He probably had to provide an update on his research, or something. Or maybe he was just being conscientious...
he has one for the cottage in the other, right ?
Ummm...I don't think I ever said he did...did I? The doors to the rooms in the cottage are skeleton keyed...I don't see why the front door couldn't have an ancient key, too.
I think perhaps Prof!Peter is over analyzing this just a little bit...
Just a bit, yes. But it's what he does ;)
I don't really think that it was just reacting.
In that moment, though, he was. Sure, he thought about it leading up to the point--but he finally just turned the thoughts off, and *did* instead of analysed.

Thank you. The imagery was definitely a conscious decision--and I liked that the naked skin of his finger served as a real representation of how naked his soul is here.
