So nice to wake up to this chapter--obscenely early on a Monday morning.

First reaction: Penny! WTH? What on earth happened to you?

“Stop ‘sir’-ing me-it’s ridiculous. ‘Peter’. Or ‘Carlisle’. ‘Bastard’ has been known to work, as well.”

Such a funny line and yet so telling, both about the NCL and about Peter's life in general. Your heart just goes out to him.

He sounded so down, so certain that he was terrible at his job; she wondered, briefly, if he was suffering depression.

Who? Peter? No...Never.

And poor Rose--it's not just the normal fear from a cop's significant other, is it? Poor girl probably has some pretty significant abandonment issues, especially from a man with Peter's face. This isn't to say, obviously, that she's flashing back to the Doctor--we got over the fact that Peter=/= the Doctor in the last story, but goodness knows Rose understands loss.

Oh, and I take it from the image up at the top of the page that Elias looks like Sir Robert. Yeah, guess who's finally catching up with the rest of the world? ::Laughs wryly::

And again with the technical difficulties on my part.

I smell a conspiracy on the part of your computer.

If I used a Windows box, I might be tempted to agree with you. I'm sure there's just a setting I need to go and fix somewhere...

I'm glad! Getting up early to post this meant I was awoken from my odd dream involving tornadoes, schnauzers, and Stratford.

Such a funny line and yet so telling, both about the NCL and about Peter's life in general.

Indeed. *sigh* Peter...it killed me to have to write him like this--but it was necessary.

goodness knows Rose understands loss.

She does indeed. Rose has seen a lot of people (many, friends) die--and not just in her travels with the Doctor.

Yeah, guess who's finally catching up with the rest of the world?

*g* Over on the left is a link to the Cast--complete with pictures of the major characters :)

Tornadoes and schnauzers really aren't things that I normally associate with Stratford...but ookay...No more of whatever you had for supper for you.

Indeed. *sigh* Peter...it killed me to have to write him like this--but it was necessary.

I take it we're warming him up to be leaving the lovely lads of the NCL in the near future, then. Still...I'd hoped for better from Penny, much like your other readers. I see above that he's been told that Peter's detrimental to his career--feh, after all the setting up Peter did for him on the McGreevy matter. Fie on you, Penny!

As for the linky--yeah, like I said, guess who's finally getting the picture. Apparently, I'm just a tad slow.

She does indeed. Rose has seen a lot of people (many, friends) die--and not just in her travels with the Doctor.
Further reinforcing her reaction to Peter's rather cavalier decision to launch himself into an unknown house through a window.

Fie on you, Penny!

Poor Penny. He's still a young pup--but he'll find his way, eventually. *g*
