“No argument, Inspector Carlisle?” Elias’s wry tone gave him pause.

“No...should there be?”

“So the mood does wear off by mid-morning?”

Peter made a rude gesture, smiling, and then walked over to the large police vehicle.

oooooh. letting someone else drive the car and teasing? a sure sign Peter's catching on to this whole lets be friends and partners thing :)

He’d not have to live with her-he’d be happy to simply be in the same city as her, to know that he could walk over or take the subte, that he’d not have to pack a suitcase to spend more than a few hours with her.

hmm. yes getting ahead of himself, but thinking more realistically and logically than I think he was before. After A Secret Thing, does he suggest moving into his own flat or is it assumed he'll just move in with Rose?

“Shall we, m’love?” Elias extended his elbow to his wife; she laughed, swatting playfully at him before passing by.

okay, I think I died a bit from cute with that. wait till they witness the power of PeterRose though ;)

He's getting there :)

*g* Stay tuned.

I'll be curious to read more about this though....

I haven't written much, honestly--but after Elias next discusses his past (I'm fairly sure it comes up again), feel free to ask me any questions you might have.

I love seeing them work together.

I...I might be so bold as to say, that Peter and Elias make a better investigative team than do Peter and Rose.

Though with his track record of cheating and jealousy in the past, I can see why he would be skittish to go down those paths of thought.

Ah, that's an *excellent* point.

Was Ruby in the military as well? is that how they met?

Yes--and no. *g*

Have a lovely weekend, as well!

Or Elias and Ruby, for that matter.

lustful thoughts aside, I think Elias does a better job of getting Peter on task, whereas with Rose, I think he'd be more inclined to have a longer chat about the root of the issue....I think what I'm trying to say is, they work better cause they're two hetero guys not romantically involved with each other that happen to click in their detecting styles and other aspects of life which = an awesome duo.

Yes--and no. *g*

*raises eyebrow* hmmmm, intriguing.

no, it's non-commital yes/no tease stuff that make her evil... it's so frustrating to try to figure out where the story is going when she won't give *anything*

mwhaHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.

Oh, come on--yes, it's frustrating, but reading this sequentially is part of the fun! Especially since all of the ficlets were posted out of order!

I know. but trying to guess what's going to happen and to try to worm it out of you is the other half the fun !:)

So true! but I'm a sucker for anticipation and as much as it drives me spare, I think I'd be more disapointed if it weren't there.

Speaking of anticipation, I don't know how our dear DI is going to be able to keep civil when he does finally see her. With any luck it won't be in public ;)

Oh, I absolutely agree with you on all fronts... especially

With any luck it won't be in public

I think it was principia_coh who made a little scene-let that Peter walks in his room to find Rose stepping out of the shower with towel wrapped around her. Which I think might be the safest way to play it... though certainly not as fun as in a very public place in front of Elias and Ruby. HEE !

Both scenarios have their merits. Instant gratification if it goes the way of principia_coh 's prediction. on the other hand, it would be incredibly entertaining to see Elias and Ruby witness a side of Peter that would confirm all sorts of theories and it would be a hell of an introduction for Rose....
